Job Summary
We are hiring a meticulous and quality-focused Steel Checker (QA/QC) to review structural steel detailing drawings and 3D models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and international standards. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining project quality before fabrication and construction.
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of structural steel detailing, quality control procedures, and international steel standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review structural steel shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Verify detailing accuracy, dimensions, and member information.
- Check steel connections and fabrication details.
- Ensure compliance with AISC, CISC, IS Codes, and client standards.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control checks on drawings and models.
- Coordinate with detailers, modellers, engineers, and project managers.
- Identify and resolve detailing discrepancies before project release.
- Review project revisions and maintain documentation.
- Ensure deliverables meet project quality standards.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Experience in structural steel checking, detailing, or QA/QC preferred.
- Strong understanding of fabrication drawings and structural standards.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel detailing.
- Experience checking fabrication and erection drawings.
- Understanding of AISC, CISC, and IS Codes.
- Knowledge of structural steel connections and quality procedures.
